Lindy Long Sanders

PELION - Lindy Long Sanders, 82, of Pelion passed away November 25, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Richard Sanders.
Born in Lexington County, SC on December 28, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Columbus Talmadge and Gladys Burkett Long. She is also survived by daughter, Genie (George) Wallace of Bishopville and son, Charles (Glenda) Sanders of Leesville; granddaughters, Kayla and Rebekah Wallace, and Tonya Knox; great- grandson, Tyler Knox and granddog, Molly; siblings, Betty Hall and Tommy Long. Lindy Long Sanders

PELION - Lindy Long Sanders, 82, of Pelion passed away November 25, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Richard Sanders.
Born in Lexington County, SC on December 28, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Columbus Talmadge and Gladys Burkett Long. She is also survived by daughter, Genie (George) Wallace of Bishopville and son, Charles (Glenda) Sanders of Leesville; granddaughters, Kayla and Rebekah Wallace, and Tonya Knox; great- grandson, Tyler Knox and granddog, Molly; siblings, Betty Hall and Tommy Long. Her parents, brothers and sisters who have gone before are reunited with her: Laverne Laird, Juanita Whitaker, Buddy Long and Johnny Long. She was a graduate of Pelion High School. She was a homemaker and seamstress for Pelion Manufacturing Company. Her children, grandchildren and grand-dog were her pride and joy. Nannie loved flowers and gardening. She also loved to read and work jigsaw puzzles.
A special thank you is extended to nurses and caretakers at Carroll Campbell Place for the great care which Nannie received. The family would also like to thank the 8th floor medical staff at Lexington Medical Center for their care of Nannie in her last days.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Pelion United Methodist Church, 832 Magnolia Street, Pelion, SC. Interment will be in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170 on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pelion United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Association of SC, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210.
